ANNUAL EVENTS
CHRISTMAS PARADE
This is run by the Maungaturoto Business Association. It is a great family day with the usual types of stalls and Santa makes a guest appearance of course. There is a wonderful parade with the Waipu Pipe Band and many colourful floats that are competing for prize money.
NORTHLAND LIFESTYLE FIELD DAYS
This event is held by Real Town Maungaturoto Inc. at the Country Club in April. It is a must for people with lifestyle blocks who are seeking information and knowledge. Demonstrations and workshops, as well as stalls, information stands and entertainment.
PAHI REGATTA
This is held annually in January at Pahi on the Kaipara Harbour. There is a full range of boat races and novelty events, beauty contests and all of the usual types of stalls and attractions.
NORTH KAIPARA A&P SHOW IN PAPAROA
Held on the first Saturday of February, every year at the show grounds in Paparoa. It is a typical country show with livestock, showjumping, trade stalls, a rodeo, sideshows and fun rides. The hall is filled with indoor exhibits - fruit and vegetables, flowers, crafts and creative displays. |
